We're all leaving home, if this was ever home, If this grey precinct had any meaning. We're all leaving. I can't believe it. A moth lands on my arm and I feel like crying; I am older; this moment has already passed and been forgotten Like the first time you smiled at me - oh, how you did glow. It's the start of a pokemon game. It's the first thirty seconds when a sprite with ice tastes okay. The neighbours moved away. I never knew their names. The crows perch on their windowsill. The house is dark, The gate is open. The lady down the road prays for some poor kid to Kick their ball into her garden So she can yell at them. I don't want to be just a minor detail, Wet cement to fill the gaps; There are far too many cracks. A hand touches my arm. I can see my breath. Oh my God, I'm a person. Oh my God, I'm just like them. Oh my God, I am mortal. Oh my God. Oh my God. I'm a monster.

Fred's House 00:26
The first time I went to Fred's house, I got disorientated; I could have sworn I was upstairs, but there are no stairs at Fred's house.

Snowglobe 04:10
Hey, you're just like me: you are full of bright ideas and opportunities, But no way of being seen, and you've only got a short amount of time while you're pristine. Yesterday I was free: I had one eye on the rain and the other on the screen. I'm afraid of what I'll be, how I'll react to the weather when there's nothing on TV. What the fuck? Why do I have to face all this at once? Crack! Screech! Bend! Everything is going to end! Hey, we will explode: we are pounding on the glass from the inside of the snow globe With no way of getting out, with nobody to hear us no matter how loud we shout. Yesterday I was sure everyone only gets one thing to live their life for; I'm afraid of choosing the wrong thing. What the fuck? Why do I have to face all this at once? Crack! Screech! Bend! Everything is going to end! Itsy-witsy-bitsy spider, this spout isn't getting any wider. When the water comes down we all drown. This death will come in stages. The rats are gnawing through their cages. We're so ready to live but afraid to exist. What the fuck? Why do I have to face all this at once? Crack! Screech! Bend! Everything is going to end!

Oh, eyes shut, ready or not, the future is coming. It exists in the dark, whispers as we fall asleep. It whispers about War, jet packs, almanacs, kids in hover vehicles, The space between you and I as we fall asleep When the void is close enough to touch, do you feel like something's missing? When we decide that we've had enough of this toxic senseless stuff, do you feel like something's missing when we say goodbye? Promise me we're not just school friends. I know I'm not one of your cool friends, But promise me that, when the present ends, Your past won't see me as a school friend. Oh, the paths we choose go in opposite directions. Dumb jokes, anecdotes, will be lost along the way Along with all the Stress, long texts - I guess our thumbs will fall off our hands. We can still talk, but maybe not face to face. When the void is close enough to touch, do you feel like something's missing? When the buildings dive into the dust and we know we've done enough, will you feel like something's missing when the next town is destroyed? Promise me we're not just school friends. I know I'm not one of your cool friends, But promise me that, when the present ends, Your past won't see me as a school friend. When the roundabout stops, are you sure you've had enough? 'Cause we can't ride it again, never again. They'll be a hover car crash and it'll last and last and last. And I might not see you again, never again. Never, never again. Never, never again. Never, never again. Never, never again. Never, never again. (School friends, never let the present end)

Sebastian 05:38
The playground has been rebuilt on astroturf ground. The children scrape their elbows, but they do not make a sound. Their mother feeds them water and, greedily, they sip Then race into the ocean to take the pirate ship. The cannons are exploding, the battle has begun. Sebby is so deadly with a finger for a gun. The battle ends in victory, one never to forget. The kids rejoice their glory while Mom reaches for a cigarette. She has no idea how she got back here. She was once like us: She wanted to be everything at once, And lost in her trance, Sebby climbs the mast, Sebby falls to the floor. He won't be sailing the seven seas no more. They built a retirement village, they built it in the dark, The cranes pierce through the skyline and stub the toes of God. In the car park below, a man looks confused, He cannot find his keys, nor his wife, nor his shoes. His wife is in the drugstore, wondering which hair dye to get: Does she stick with the blonde or does she dare to get brunette? Her husband is so angry as the fact unfurled: He's going to miss the football. It's the end of the world! The ground begins to crumble! The cranes all ascend! The cars sink into their spaces! Crack! Screech! Bend! The man falls through the cracks and clings on for dear life! As he falls he screams: "Where are my keys? Where is my wife?" Who had no idea how he disappeared, But she did not mind; she could cook anything that she wanted tonight. And though she mourned for him, her once loved Sebastian, She felt free from dread and said "next time, I'll get the brunette"

The dog on meadway avenue Stands still and stares right into you Then thrashes about on the floor. Soon it won't be here anymore. His owner walks him everyday. Gotta grip his neck to make him stay. And I bet when the dog finally dies, His owner won't be far behind. What will the owner do? He lives in a tiny house with nobody else. Already a recluse, His name is still unknown, grass is overgrown. There's nothing I can do. I wish that I could help but I've got problems myself. So when I see the dog on meadway avenue, I see all the things that I didn't do.

Pip The Cat 03:56
I wish I could scream like Pip the cat, Make my mouth a wash of pink and black, but not time for that. I can't even speak, It's impossible to explain what I mean, like a bad dream. It's like driving in the rain, a text sent but not received. It's like what if all the words you knew how to spell became obsolete? It must be hard for you; this car's breaking down and neither of us know what to do. 'Cause every time we walk down the street it's like our whole life's under attack. 'Cause we're the ones who always smile at strangers but they never smile back. Yeah, I know where you're at, and I wish I could scream like Pip the cat. I wish I could be like Pip the cat, Not give a shit about this or that, just eat and nap, Go walk around at night, Land on my feet from any great height, that'd be alright. Claws out ready to attack, I'm so far away from home, And the entire world exists within these six of seven roads. That'd be okay for me, that would explain why the world is so ugly. A world where I can't walk down the street without feeling my life under attack. A world where I will always smile at strangers but they never smile back. Yeah, I'm so done with that, and I wish I could scream like Pip the cat.

Car Coming 04:45
All the balls have burst, the cricket stumps have turned to splinters. Since the sun fell down, it has been just one long winter, But I am still that kid kicking a ball against the wall, Telling myself 'I am worthless, I am nothing big at all'. But I keep kicking, without skill or inspiration: England have played shit for an entire generation, But that's the price we pay, that's the seed that we sowed, So I will stay on this path 'til I'm made to get off the road. Just get off the road, get off the road, get off the road! There's a car coming! Get off the road, get off the road, get off the road! There's a car coming! Chris knocks on my door, everybody's going to the park. We'll make goalposts out of jumpers and play Wembley 'til it's dark. But I need some money, I need to borrow some quids, I need to buy myself some sweets, I need to be like all the cool kids. Then everything changed soon as we hit secondary school; You learn swear words, you start fires, buying sweets won't make you cool. Now we stay inside, we don't go to the park no more. Pretend we never liked football, pretend we forgot the score. Now we're all super dunk and falling on the floor, singing Get off the road, get off the road, get off the road! There's a car coming! Get off the road, get off the road, get off the road! There's a car coming! There's a car coming! There's a car coming! And it's gonna kill us all if we don't get running! Kill the cul de sac! Kill the cul de sac! The days of tricks and rainbow flicks aren't coming back. 'Cause we went to school with druglords and bankers, Vauxhall Corsas and Audi wankers, Xbox kids and sony gamers, clantag sweats and fifa ragers, Cyberbullies on your case behind your back and to your face, Kids too cool to go outside. Now the cul de sac is dead, and so am I.

It's like coughing in an underpass, an intruding reverb that oozes from the wilting walls, A disease among what's already dead And then the realisation when the echo slaps you in your frozen face: You don't live here. You never did. And you're not some intrinsic, hopeful heart, You're the hand the grabs the dagger. And you're the eyes see the light, You're the torch that lets them burn. And you're not the lungs that spit the cough, You're the vic in the weeping chest. And you're not different from anyone else, You're just like all the rest. You don't live here. You never did.

You got the house which you cannot afford. You got the job that you went to school for. You got the spouse and the three kids. You could have been more than this. You could have been more than this. Your kids are happy you take them to school. They say strange new words which they think to be cool. They know that you're old, you're so out of touch. Why do you hate them so much? Why do you hate them so much? We're on the edge, we're growing up. Legal adulthood is corrupting us. It's freezing our blood and shaking our bones. Don't let us die in the snow. Don't let us die in the snow. The undertakers are digging up dirt For thousands of people declared fit to work, For people on the streets with frostbitten toes. This is the country you chose. This is the country you chose. This is the country you chose. This is the country you chose. - 2011 - This car won't stop, it's gonna be the death of us. And we might get to heaven, but we'll never go back to 2011. (The first time I went to Fred's house, I got disorientated, I could have sworn I was upstairs, but there are no stairs at Fred's house)

I don't know what to do today. I just can't wait to get away, Away from all the facts and quotes And all the people I hate. The papers on the windowsill Are waiting to be filled But I can't sit still. Everything is getting in the way Of my pokemon diamond nuzlocke. Everything's taking twice as long today. I no longer give a fuck. I don't know what to do today. I just can't wait to get away, Away from all the facts and quotes And all the people I hate. The papers on the windowsill Are waiting to be filled But I can't sit still. I can't sit still. I can't sit still. I love the end but fuck the means, I'm addicted to the screen And I can't sit still. I think I'm bored of my own face. I think I'm bored of this sick place.
